Venerable comedy producers Anne and Jon Fox take great pride in staging their legendary event each year, especially here before hometown fans and friends at the Marin Showcase Theater.

During two big nights, Marin Showcase comedy fans can see the entire field of talented contestants recruited from around the country. Each show consists of 15 hilarious acts each doing a six-minute set. The two shows are completely different from each other. This is an excellent chance to see all 30 comedians in one venue.

History suggests one or two of this year’s performers may go on to stardom, joining the ranks of past alumni Dana Carvey, Ellen DeGeneres, Marc Maron, Patton Oswalt, Paula Poundstone and Robin Williams, as well as more recent achievers like Jimmy O. Yang of “Silicon Valley” and Rory Scovel who appeared recently with Amy Schumer as her boyfriend in the movie, “I Feel Pretty.”

Now he performs all over the country.
