Crow’s Nest: Santa Cruz
Coming down to the wire, Preliminary Round Two ends at what will surely be a packed Crow’s Nest.
This round attract touring headliners fron out of the area. You get an excellent idea of the emerging comedy scene.
A photo finish is expected.
What a place to announce the second five Semifinalists at the end of the evening, at the best restaurant in town.
The Crows Nest has earned a reputation of being a very notorious venue. It’s close to the water which is good because someone might sleep with the fishes tonight.
As a final night at the competition. Some comics are giving it their all for a chance to break into the Semifinals. Some kick back and enjoy themselves. Some of them have snap sets where all the stress of the week comes out, but the audience enjoys it either way.
It’s a fantastic show and not one to miss. This is also one of the only opportunities to see all 30 comics in one venue.
We have 15 comics on the bill. Five advance to the Semifinals. The rest go home.
Tickets are only available at the door so come early.

Winner of the 2022 East Bay Comedy Competition, Dan is a regular at San Francisco Punch Line, Cobb’s Comedy Club, San Jose Improv, and Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Club. He can otherwise be found performing at local theaters, bars, bowling alleys, and the occasional Russian bathhouse.

The San Francisco Comedy Competition is one of the most prestigious comedy events in North America, launching the careers of notable comedians such as Patton Oswalt, Robin Williams, and Ellen DeGeneres. It’s a hilarious evening, where you will see the comedy stars of tomorrow competing for their chance at fame and fortune. Hundreds of comedians audition each year to compete, but only 32 are chosen.
