Week 2 Lineup
Josh Argyle (Petaluma, CA)
The son of an environmental activist mother and a father from the projects of Pittsburgh, PA, Josh Argyle is adept at scathing social commentary, cutting sarcasm or just talking about BBQ. Josh has been a selection for the 10,000 Laughs Festival, the Ventura Comedy Festival, as well as co-producing the very successful Savage henry Comedy Festival in Eureka. He has opened for several nationally touring comedians, including Kyle Kinane, Doug Stanhope and Pablo Francisco. Whether it’s a story about the ridiciulousness of his hometown of Eureka; observations of race, class and life in the Bay Area; or just pontificating about the absurdity of writing in the 3rd person, Josh can bring something new to the table…especially BBQ.
Zahid Dewji (Houston, TX)
Zahid Dewji aka “Banksy” is a crayon-creator at Crayola who has also won three day time Emmy’s and and is what many commonly refer to as a “habitual liar.” Ok, fine. He’ s an East-African comic of Indian descent based out of Houston, Texas. He has performed on tour across India, was a finalist at both Comcast’s Trial By Laughter & Cleveland Comedy Fest and has opened for the likes of Tom Segura, Mark Normand & Jay Pharoah.
Steph Garcia (Sacramento, CA)
Steph Garcia is a Sacramento comic who is best known for her quick wit and ferocious sarcasm. On stage, she shares hysterical, yet vulnerable stories about her life including marriage, kids, and regrets about both. She has lost two national comedy competitions in front of millions of viewers on The View and Food network, but she’s not giving up…yet.
Caleb Lush (Sacramento, CA)
Caleb Lush is a 31 year-old child from Sacramento, California, that
can’t wait to grow up. His work has taken him all over the world from
being a deckhand on boats in South America, to a teacher in the Peace
Corps, and now to the stage as a stand up comedian. As a comic, he has
performed all over the country, and you can catch him running Don’t
Tell Comedy shows in San Francisco and Sacramento every weekend.
Jeanette Marin (San Jose, CA)
Jeanette Marin is a stay-at-home mom by day and a stand-up comedian by night. When she is not wiping noses at home, she delights audiences by saying what mothers are never supposed to admit in public! Willing to travel long distances for an excuse to leave the house, she has performed up and down the west coast from Seattle to San Diego and back again to her home in the Bay Area. She was a finalist in the 4th annual San Jose Improv comedy competition and a featured comedian at the 2019 Cinequest Film Festival.
TK Moyer (Yanceyville, NC)
TK Moyer was always a class clown, and while serving 6 years in the Navy he picked up a mic and told jokes to boost morale on the ship. He fell in love with stand-up and has pursued it in San Francisco and London, where he went to acting school. He’s now back in the Bay Area, performing at clubs like Cobb’s, Punch Line, and even The Battery. In 2018, he opened his own comedy room upstairs at the Edinburgh Castle Pub, where he’s excited to provide a platform for other aspiring comics.
Shannon Murphy (San Jose, CA)
With her sweet and calm demeanor, Shannon Murphy has the pleasure of surprising audiences all over the San Francisco Bay Area with her dry wit and juvenile humor that makes them lean in to hear what she’s going to say next. Shannon has opened for John Witherspoon, Greg Behrendt, Bryan Callen, Sheng Wang, and Tony Hinchcliffe, and she was the runner-up in the 2016 Rooster T Feathers Comedy Competition.
Clay Newman (San Francisco, CA)
This excitable joke slinger has been delighting audiences across the west coast with tales of life, love, and all that other crap that fills our days. A long time San Francisco theater nerd, Clay took the leap into stand up comedy 7 years ago and has never looked back. He can still be seen portraying a wide range of characters on national commercials, ranging from techie, to stoner, to stoned techie.
Tommy O’Neill (Orlando, FL)
Tommy O’Neill is a comedian with an inquisitive and intense style that points out the stupidity in his life. His grumpy rants keep him sounding old and crazy, while his energy keeps him young at heart. Originally from Orlando FL, Tommy is the host of the Bust it Wide Open Podcast featured on iTunes/SoundCloud. You may have seen or heard Tommy from TV’s “The Viral Break-Down”, FOX’s “Laugh TV”, “The Down Low (With James Yon)”, Comedy Centrals “Tosh.O”, ComedyCentral.com, or from one of his hundreds of appearances on a iHeart Media radio station. He currently lives in Los Angeles and tours comedy clubs nationally. Life is amazing, but Tommy will still find something to be mad at.
David Roth (San Francisco, CA)
David is a San Francisco and NYC-based comedian who has performed at Outside Lands and SF Sketchfest. He produces the hit show The Charm Offensive at the SF Punch Line. David is also a highly awarded advertising creative director who has written two Super Bowl commercials and has collaborated with Jim Gaffigan, Ludacris, and Sir Mix-A-Lot.
Sterling Scott (Edmonton, AB)
Sterling Scott has performed at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, toured in Iraq and Kuwait in support of the military as a comedian, was signed by Kevin Hart to a development deal with the LOL network and was a past finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition.
Joshua Stokes (Houston, TX)
Joshua Stokes, is a comedian based out of Houston, Texas, with jokes on everything squashes to real estate law. He can be seen regularly in Houston working at the Joke Joint and the Secret Group. He has had the privilege of working alongside amazing comedians such as Liz Miele, Jerry Rocha, Billy Wayne Davis and Ms. Pat to name a few. He is also a 2018 Sem Finalist in NBC’s Standup for Diversity.
Nicole Tran (San Jose, CA)
Nicole Tran performs at SF & Sac Punchline, Rooster T Feather, Tommy T, Cobb’s, Laugh Unlimited, Brian Copeland’s shows at San Leandro Center for the Performing Arts, Throckmorton Theater, the Comedy Store, Laugh Factory LA, Hollywood Improv, the Ice House,Ventura Harbor Comedy Club. On August 5th 2019, I performed on Kill Tony show at the Comedy Store. Ellis Rodriguez has invited me to audition for Laugh Unlimited on 05/2019. I was selected for Kevin Hart Comedy Central audition 2018. I appeared on Diva Talk Tonight on KTSF Ch 26 10/2018.
Saul Trujillo (Stockton, CA)
Saul Trujillo is a child-like man ready to light up any room with his awkward energy. Growing up in the city of Stockton wasn’t easy, but it gave him the thick skin needed for any situation on and off the stage. The winner of 2018 Sacramento Comedy Competition uses his obscure observations on his own life that will keep you scratching your head and laughing at the same time
Sonya Vai (New York, NY)
Comedian, Actor & Writer Sonya Vai was born and raised in New York City but is constantly asked “where are you really from?” by drunk men in bars. Sonya recently performed in the New York Comedy Festival where she co-produced “Facial Recognition Comedy”, a show dedicated to showcasing female-identifying South Asian comedians. The show was featured in the NY Times as one of the 5 shows they were most excited to see at the Festival. Her show schedule can be found on Instagram @sonyavaicomedy.
Kristel Zweers (The Hague, NL)
Kristel Zweers is the living proof that not all Dutch people are tall. She’s based in The Hague but feels at home anywhere in the world. Between 2013 – 2017 she lived in Singapore and that’s when she started to perform in English, which allowed her to tour all over Asia and the Southern Hemisphere. She has a passion for sailing and spend all summer of 2019 as flotilla skipper in Croatia. Her comedy career started in 2001 at The Comedy Cafe Amsterdam where she became first runner-up in the Lucky Strike Comedy Competition. In 2004 she was part of the Dutch version of “ Who’s Line is It Anyway” and one of her Dutch solo shows was broadcast on Dutch TV.
