The San Francisco Comedy Competition is proud to announce auditions for the 2024 season with host, Johnny Steele.
Johnny Steele
Over his thirty-plus year career bay area native Johnny Steele has been a comedian, radio show host, TV show host, subject of a documentary, San Francisco Comedy Competition winner, performed at San Francisco Sketchfest, commercial and network TV show actor, and humor writer for clients ranging from corporate CEOs to Robin Williams. Along with Larry ‘Bubbles’ Brown, Johnny has created “Stakeout Cops,” a hilarious and un-PC revisiting of vaudeville, which can be found on most social media platforms. Johnny has just completed a book of mercifully short comedy tips for comedians of all levels.
In 1992, Johnny won the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. In recent years, Johnny has been the host of “Live 105”, his own morning radio show, and co-host of KRON/BayTV’s “The Show,”, a daily TV talk show in San Francisco.

Ashley Monique is a San Francisco-based comedian who delivers wry and sometimes dark humor with a disarming, earnest energy. She has opened for Melissa Villaseñor, Zoltan Kaszas, and Nimesh Patel. You can find where Ashley will be performing next on Instagram @trashleymonique.
Ryan Rodriguez
Ryan Rodriguez
Ryan Rodriguez born and raised in Oakland California former professional wrestler turned stand-up comedian in 8 year veteran in the business who has performed at many of the large comedy clubs within California and Nevada. Also known as KJ Ryno Wrexx he is the owner of Best in the World Karaoke where he has learned to hone his skills as a host and a magician on the microphone. When he speaks people listen and laugh.
Dan Aguinaga
Dan Aguinaga
Dan Aguinaga is a Brazilian-American comedian from New York City. He lives in San Francisco with his patient wife and two precocious daughters, whom he often talks about on stage with tight writing and a silly yet sincere stage presence.
He’s opened for Scott Capurro and performs at all venues in the Bay Area.
