The Function – San Francisco – Late Show

September 6 @ 10:30 pm
The Function - San Francisco

The 49th San Francisco Comedy Competition makes a late-night stop in San Francisco at the Function, with 16 new comics competing to advance to the Semifinals. Only five advance; the rest walk home. Round Two features comics from around the world making their first appearance in the United States.

The Function offers one of the best nights of the San Francisco Comedy Competition because you can see a wide range of comics emerging from around North America in one venue.

Tickets are available at the door.

Your Host: Dan Lewis

Daniel Lewis
Daniel Lewis
Dan Lewis is a stand-up comedian based in Brooklyn, NY, though he originally hails from Detroit, MI. Despite years on the West Coast, he still clings to his Midwestern sensibilities, which make him feel out of place at artisanal pickle tastings and rooftop ketamine parties.
Winner of the 2022 East Bay Comedy Competition, Dan is a regular at San Francisco Punch Line, Cobb’s Comedy Club, San Jose Improv, and Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Club. He can otherwise be found performing at local theaters, bars, bowling alleys, and the occasional Russian bathhouse.

About The Competition

The San Francisco Comedy Competition is one of the most prestigious comedy events in North America, launching the careers of notable comedians such as Patton Oswalt, Robin Williams, and Ellen DeGeneres. It’s a hilarious evening, where you will see the comedy stars of tomorrow competing for their chance at fame and fortune. Hundreds of comedians audition each year to compete, but only 32 are chosen.

Schedule Change

Due to a scheduling oopsie, this show was originally scheduled at the Guild Theatre. We apologize for the inconvenience. That is, unless you were not planning to attend that show. Now we can apologize for the convenience of hosting a show in the middle of the San Francisco comedy scene. See you there.
