Best of the Comedy Competition
January 14, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The legendary San Francisco Comedy Competition will return to Folktale Winery on Friday, January 14, 2022 with 2021 champ Ryan Goodcase and 2019 winner Sterling Scott with special guest Chelsea Bearce. This show will welcome back the most recent winner, Ryan Goodcase, who performed in our Wine Garden in September 2021.
Sterling Scott
STERLING SCOTT is a rising star in the Canadian comedy scene and a crowd favourite. His most recent accomplishments on and off the stage include, being signed by Kevin Hart and the LOL network to a development deal, Winner of the San Francisco Comedy Competition, a performance on Crave’s Stellar Stand ups, a track on the Just for Laughs 2018 premium album, multiple national televised performances on CBC and CTV as well as two comedy albums, and a podcast entitled “the comedy reject” which are available on all streaming platforms.
Ryan Goodcase
From his humble beginnings in the Midwest, RYAN GOODCASE has since taken to the mic to make his quiet, awkward voice heard. Praised for his smart writing and dry delivery, Ryan became the youngest person to win the World Series of Comedy in 2019. Since then he has also won the 45th San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2021 and become a paid regular at The Punchline San Francisco, Cobb’s Comedy Club, Laughs Unlimited, and dozens of other clubs across the country. He’s performed at The Motor City Comedy Festival, The Santa Cruz Comedy Festival, and was named Oakland Comedy Machine’s 2018 Tournament of Champions winner. You may also recognize him as the actor playing an apathetic Bed, Bath & Beyond employee in a series of comedic online commercials.
Chelsea Bearce
CHELSEA BEARCE got her comedy start in Los Angeles and quickly headed to New York, where she performed at over a dozen comedy clubs regularly, including Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, and Caroline’s, where she performed along-side Darrell Hammond. She also studied at Upright Citizens Brigade in both their sketch program and improv program. Her blend of observational comedy and self-deprecation combined with her comfortability with talking to the audience and making them comfortable enough to make fun of themselves too, makes for a very enjoyable time had by all. Chelsea has written multiple parodies as well, including Curvy (which went viral), came in third place in the 45th San Francisco Comedy Competition, created and produces a weekly online game show called Who Wrote This S#!T?, and is the mother to an amazing five-year old named Chance.
