Another Great Show at the Guild
One of the great things about the Guild Theatre in Menlo Park is there’s great sightlines from every seat in the house. Usually when we do comedy we can sit in the back and watch the show. But not this show, even those seats filled with audience members. They came to laugh and our 16 comics came to deliver the laughs. From the reaction of the crowd, this was anyone’s show.
The Top Five
Eight comedians have made the Top Five in the two shows so far.
One thing that is really cracking me up is Daniel Lewis doing closing sets. I donn’t know why, but once people settle up their tabs, they sometimes leave before the end of the show. It’s not just comedy, it happens with sports teams as well. People leave before the game is over and I just don’t understand why. Are they trying to beat traffic?
Daniel chooses to do some really funny and edgy material for the closing set. The comics are laughing, the judges are laughing, the audience is laughing, but suddenly a table gets up and leaves. Another punchline, another table leaves. Pretty soon it looks like he’s cleared half the room telling edgy jokeswhich just makes the scene even funnier. Keep it going Daniel!
