A Night at the Auditions
It was a wild audition night at Emma’s for the San Francisco Comedy Competition. We started out with three comics, and we’re sending four to the Competition. How did that happen?
We had a late and welcome addition.
Cathy Zhao joined the auditions to be a bit of a surprise for the crowd. She did a fantastic job. She is moving on to the 2024 Competition. You can see her five minute set this September.
She will be joined by Marcus Howard, John Lehre and Holly Shaw who were all accepted into the Competition as well.

The 48th San Francisco Comedy Competition kicks off on August 30 at the Battery Club in San Francisco.
