History Making Comedy Show!
For the first time in its 49 years as an annual Northern California event, there will be three women among the five finalists in the San Francisco Stand-up Comedy Competition. This year’s winner will be announced Saturday after the show at the Marin Exhibit Hall.
“It’s been a long time coming and we couldn’t be more pleased,” commented event producer Jon Fox. “I remember when Marsha Warfield came out from Chicago to take the crown in 1979 before being cast as Roz the Bailiff on ‘Night Court’ but that was a long time ago.”
In alphabetical order, the finalists are Alisha Dhillon from San Jose, Shawn Felipe from Hawaii, CJ Koepp from West Salem (Wisconsin), Emo Majok from Perth (Australia) and Jalisa Robinson from St. Louis. After 19 shows, the last show when the winner will be announced is set for 8 pm at the Marin Exhibit Hall in San Rafael.
